About the event

Dates 2023: Feb 5, Feb 26, Mar 26, & Apr 30.

All YMCA- USA Karate Academy families will get to witness the joy your children possess while expressing the sport of our martial art. Students will participate in a friendly competition where they will showcase all the techniques they have learned.

Great opportunity to Build athletes' Ranking which will be used to select the TEAM that will represent the academy at Invitational League Tournaments.

Should children compete? Is competition good or bad for children? Do children really need to compete with others?

Competition is neither good nor bad. It is simply competition. If done correctly, it offers a great opportunity to develop the following:

🏅Confidence and security in themselves

🏅The value of hard work

🏅Capability to take risks

🏅Ability to confront fears and build courage

🏅Manage the frustration in losses

🏅Perseverance

🏅Develop resiliency, which is the ability to overcome life’s obstacles

🏅Children learn to uphold commitments
